1st Competitive game for our Youth Representative Team

The Cheshire County Youth squad played the first competitive game in the Association of Northern Counties Competition on Saturday 20th. An early start for the team, they headed up to Northumberland FA to play against the best from Newcastle Upon Tyne.
A tough 1st half saw the home team go in one nil up but the Cheshire lads matched them across the park challenge fore challenge and chance for chance. An early second for the home team after the restart meant the Cheshire lads had to push on and, with the exception of few shots on target, Northumberland's back for dealt with anything Cheshire had to offer. Pushing forward meant the defenders were stretched and a third goal went in at 75 minutes. Still playing with heart and soul, Cheshire pushed on but only threatened the home team Keeper once or twice, again due to the excellent defending from their back four. A fourth goal in the dying minutes gave Northumberland a well deserved win and 3 points but the management team took some positives from the game. A good performance from the lads with a special mention to Joe Ly and Alex Bennett.
