With one eye on Tuesdays Cheshire Amateur Cup Semi-Final West Kirby failed to impress against a lively Newton side who looked more intent on securing a win. Five minutes after the break Kirby showed some initiative and levelled through Josh Hughes. The revival was short lived as Dave Thompson netted Newtons second from the spot.
