NDSFL - MATCH DAY 8 REPORT (October 20th 2024)

Witherley United win again to gain Premier League advantage.
Alex Taylorson scored the goal that saw Witherley United claim a 1-0 win over Hearty Goodfellow to go a point clear at the top of ANCHOR INN (HARTSHILL) PREMIER LEAGUE. Witherley also have a game in hand over the chasing pack.
Ambleside remain firmly on their tails as they picked up a 3-2 win over Drayton thanks to goals from Josh Hodgson and a Brady Middleton double. Jack Colley and Simon Short scored the Drayton replies.
Athletico Duke picked up a handy 3-1 win over Ex-Servicemen's Bedworth to close the gap on the league leaders to 4 points in TRIPPLE R PAINTWORX LTD LEAGUE ONE. Joe Scott scored 2 and Braydon York with the Duke goals. Luke Alsop was on target for the Servicemen.
Goals from Michael Sadler, Ross Thacker, Levi Tindall, John Russell and Owen Bolesworth saw Bedworth Poppy's run out 5-3 winners over Burbage and Huncote. Liam O’Rourke scored a brace and Joe Sprake the other for Burbage and Huncote.
Travs returned to winning ways after their Tribune Cup exit last time out to go 2 points clear at the top of MARK BLAIR FINANCE LEAGUE TWO. 2 goals each for Ethan Looker and Ben Court backed up by a Michael Hutchinson goal was enough to gain them a 5-2 win over Swan Dive. Jack Dawson and Declan McAulay scored the Swan Dive goals.
Newdigate United sit 2nd as they beat Ambleside Reserves 4-2. Goals from Will Donovan, Harry Neale, James Lloyd and Ellis Busby keeps Newdigate unbeaten so far this season. Aidan Earp and Julio Jumbo scored the Ambleside replies.
Kyle Crawford hit 6 for White Horse Atherstone to take his tally to an impressive 21 goals in 6 appearances as they beat Ashby Road Sports 8-2. Nathan Billington and Jordan Coles scored the other White Horse goals. The win sees the Atherstone side 3rd only on goal difference. Alex Ball and Mitch Gaskin scored the Ashby Road goals.
Dan Hendrie, Jay Boorman and Ben Adams scored the goals that saw Conny United pick up a 3-2 win over Royal Oak Hartshill. The win sees Conny leapfrog their opponents into 4th place. Joe Hadley and James Smith scored the Hartshill sides goals.
Hinckley Wanderers claimed a handy 4-1 win over Red Lion Barwell. Mitch Elson, Danny Hounslea, Bradley Ball and an own goal made sure the 3 points went to the Hinckley side. Olly Walker scored the Red Lion goal.
NUNEATON TROPHIES LEAGUE THREE seems to be a race for top spot between Grendon and Chetwynd Chess. Grendon sit top only on goal difference as they picked up a 5-0 win over Hearty Goodfellow Reserves. Jack Burrows scored 2 and singles from Dave Boal, Ion Popa and Jack Barter getting the job done for Grendon.
Chetwynd Chess also claimed 3 points as they beat The Wharf Inn 4-3. Daniel Law and Sam Jones both scored 2 goals each to steer their side to victory. Rich Durose scored 2 and Harry McDowell the other for The Wharf.
Bedworth Bank climb to 3rd after they beat Crows Nest Sports 6-3. Zak Bhara scored 2 with the singles coming from Jordan Vallis, Jonny Sayer, Joe Duggan and Nathan Lindsay for Bank. Steve Hall scored a hat trick for Crows Nest.
Jarrod Stone scored again for SS Bulls Head but they were held to a 1-1 draw against Horseshoes as Alex Taylor scored the goal to earn his side a point.
The RICHARD DUNN LEAGUE FOUR leaders Bedworth Eagles were not in action this week so Lamb and Flag had the chance to go top, however they were held to a 2-2 draw with Attleborough Royal Oak who sit a point behind The Flag in 3rd. George Simmons and Adam Nelmes scored the Lamb and Flag goals. Jake Warmington and Daniel Richards were on target for Attleborough.
With the 4th and 6th place are separated only by goal difference, Bedworth Liberal hit 6 past Attleborough Sports to give their goal difference a boost. Jack Sidwell, Reece Smith, Josh Stokes, Jacob Field, Keegan Hobson and Ryan Jones scored the goals to capture them a 6-1 win. Matthew French scored the Attleborough Sports consolation.
FC Burbage sit 5th as Jacob Wright and Matt Snow both hit doubles to seal a 6-2 win over Griff and Coton Manor Reserves.
Leon Hallam and Luke Garner scored the singles. Ryan Drake and Montaeo Silk-Neilson scored the Griff goals.
Lord Nelson occupy 6th place but were held to a 3-3 draw against Sunnyside United . Kieran McCurley, Bryn Cove and Lewis Such scored the Nelson goals with Adrian Talbot scoring a hat trick for Sunnyside to take his season tally to 9.
