Whitchurch United 1 Winchester City 1 aet. City won 4-2 on penalties

When Whitchurch United were leading 1-0 with four minutes of added time gone, they thought the North Hants Senior Cup would be in their hands for the first time, but City equalized and with no goals in extra time, City won the penalty shootout 4-2 to take the cup.
Kicking down the slope City had plenty of the play and in the tenth minute strong claims for hand ball was turned down following a shot from Zach Glasspool, it hit a defender on the arm, then the post and finally went for a fruitless corner.
Josh Green headed off the line when City attacked in the 31st minute and a rare chance for United fell to Danny Williams, who after fine dribble decided on a pass instead of shooting, so leaving the first half goal-less.
Whitchurch looked much better after the break and in the 53rd minute they were awarded a penalty after Tom Lockyer was fouled in the box. Josh Green was entrusted with the spot kick, but a diving save from keeper Gary Barfoot stopped them taking the lead.
In the 60th minute they did go in front. A 50 yard free kick from Green was back headed by Matt Austin over the advancing Barfoot, who looked slow off his time..
Whitchurch almost went two goals up when a back pass was intercepted by Anthony Phillips, who then shot badly wide.
City pressed strongly in the final five minutes and their equalizer came in the fourth minute of added time. A throw in by Adam Roberts caused havoc in the six yard box and then the ball finally came out to Warren Bentley who fired into he net.
In extra time only two excellent saves from the United keeper Brad Snelling, from Bentley and Geoff Dunn stopped City leading and Bentley also hit a great chance over the bar.
In the penalty shootout Jack McCarthy and keeper Snelling missed the first two for United, with Bentley and Chris Mason converting for City. Snelling then saved from Glasspool. Cole Hinchcliff made it 2-1, but Adam Roberts beat Snelling for a 3-1 City lead. Anthony Phillips gave United hope by converting the next, but no mistake from the final kick taken by Mike Hubbard meant the cup went to City third time since the competition was started in 1972..
