Second round of matches in the Chris Sear Memorial Cup & Shield

The second round of matches in the Chris Sear Memorial Cup and Shield were played last weekend and it’s Lanthorne that head Group A on the Memorial Cup after goals from Kieran Laws, Phoenix Ward and Louis Michael saw them defeat Windmill 4-1, Daniel Todd with the Windmill goal. Hussar are up to third in the group standings following a 4-1 win against Lesters Athletic, Woody Pitman hitting a hat trick. The other match in the group ended 1-1 as Frames United and 19th Hole drew 1-1, Habeeb KB Ilesanmi scoring for Frames with Jamie Bowen netting for 19th Hole.

Over in Group B and it’s Kings United who lead the way as they maintained their 100% record in all competitions this season with a 4-1 win over Counting House, Mac Durling scoring a brace with Zack Thomas and Danny Wisker the other scorers. Macies sit second after a narrow 3-2 win against Monkton, Thomas Barton, Chris Parish & Martyn Wood all getting one goal each, Matt Hardy getting both for Monkton. Jack Hawkins, Ben Munday and Dom Crawford all scored one goal each as TWS Cramptons recorded their first victory of the competition with a 3-1 win over Red Arrows.

Into the Memorial Shield and Garden Bar made it two wins from two matches as a solitary Jasper Marsh goal was enough to secure the points against The Vale. Two goals each from Adam Topping & Daniel Harris earned FC Inter Westgate a 4-1 win against Westgate Social Club and one goal each from Reece James. Finley Regan and William Wilson saw Prince Albert past Thanet Athletic 3-1.

Easy Scaff head Group B thanks to a 7-3 win against Northwood, Jamie Ridgeway scoring no less than six of his side’s goals, Jay Lawlor netting the other whilst Harry Paxman grabbed a brace for Northwood. Shrimpos sit second after beating Holman Carpentry 4-1, Gareth Rushton keeping up his fine goal scoring form with another brace whilst there was one each for Joe Simpson and Josh Turner, Samuel Boyton was the Holman scorer. Sandwich Town edged out Aussie Arms 4-3 thanks to a hat trick from Reece Walker, Haydon Croxton with the other goal whilst Billy Allen, Michael Bainbridge and Damien Greene were the scorers for Aussie.
