As many people may be aware the Derbyshire Times are only printing a small report in the paper. Can i just reassure club Secretaries, Officials, Players and Supporters that the full report, as it appears on the website, is being submitted to the paper. However it is the editoral team at the paper who decide what to prnt and I have no control over what appears in the paper each week.

The NAPIT Sunday League first division table took on an ominously familiar look after Sunday’s round of games as defending champions Hasland brushed aside the challenge of Killamarsh Juniors Athletic, who began the day in second place, to reach the summit for the first time this season. Juniors have made an impressive start to the campaign, winning four of their opening six fixtures but they were no match for a rampant Hasland side for whom James Senior and James Goodison both scored twice, Pete Stubley, Danny Claridge and Matt Smith once in a 7-0 drubbing. Clowne Wanderers, who were promoted along with Juniors Athletic last season, beat Renishaw M W 2-0 to go third thanks to goals from David Hall and Ben Carless. AFC Whitecotes striker Jez Mitchell can prove to be a handful for any defence and he was in inspired form against strugglers Brampton Rovers finding the back of the net on four occasions. D Mason also got in on the act, registering a treble with C Lytham adding goal number eight. Rovers did not go down easily however as S Martin hit a hat trick and H Rickells one as the game ended 8-4 in Whitecotes favour. Hepthorne Lane’s season came alive as goals from Josh Hamson, Joe Stone and Kahl Watson earned them a 3-1 victory over Eckington Boys, the first win of the season.

Just two games in NAPIT TWO saw three of the early season title contenders in action. Barrow Hill MC made the journey to Clay Cross Town’s ground to take on highly fancied FC Brimington and came away with a point that sees them top the division. Ryan Whittaker hit both Barrow Hill’s goals with Jordan Hall and Josh Thomas netting for the home side. New Whitt’s 4-3 victory over Woodside saw them join the leaders and Grassmoor Sports on thirteen points. Gary Morton hit three of the winning goals for New Whitt with G Hannaby adding the all important fourth.

In NAPIT FOUR just one game took place and it ended level at 1-1, Harleys Scarlets and Brimington Park Colts picking up a point apiece.

NAPIT FIVE side Dunstan Rovers entertained Holmehall 1ST and beat them 5-1 to claim maximum points for the first time, Sheriff scoring a couple of goals, Presland, Brown and Hudson one each. Palterton Sporting Club also picked up three points after they beat Brimington Utd 4-1, Holmes, Lockwood, Ambler and Marris on target for PSC.

Crown Killamarsh hit the goal trail in SIX putting nine past Bulls Head Old Whitt who did manage to score three themselves. Whitehouse led the charge for the Crown, scoring three, Lester adding two to the goals tally, Hackford, Evans, Payling and Holmes also getting in on the act. As a result of their win Crown are second in the table one point above Furnace Hill Hurricanes who met Holmehall 2ND and beat them 4-1, Wilson two, Buttery and Alton with the winning goals. A tight game at Barlow Kingston Rovers went the way of the home side who just edged out opponents Hasland WMC 4-3, Nigel Emberton, Ed Biggin, Jamie Sewell and Pete Stevenson hitting the winning goals.

There were plenty of goals around in SEVEN with the games between Brimington Club and Duckmanton Community and Britannia Tupton and Squadron Medical both producing nine. Brimington Club came ever so close to taking something from their game with Community but in the end just lost out 5-4 with G Travis and S Otter both scoring a couple for the winners. Squadron Medical’s victory was more clear cut, Glover scoring three times in the 6-3 score line for the winners. The division’s other game saw Brampton Rovers Reserves win 4-1 at Clay Cross Miners and Diners to maintain top position in the division, Stephen Siddall scoring two of the four goals, Gary Morris and Rickie Hadfield one each.

Sunday saw the first round of the County Cup take place and in the senior section Dronfield Woodhouse made short work of Derby City League side Cueball FC, hammering them 6-0, Liam Mottram registering a hat trick. However things might just prove a little bit more difficult for Woodhouse in the next round as they face holders Hasland. As is usual several NAPIT sides clashed including first division Creswell who took on NAPIT TWO high flyers Grassmoor Sports and thumped them 7-1 whilst Double Top claimed a notable scalp in former winners Bolsover Town SC. The two sides were deadlocked at 4-4 after ninety minutes but Double Top scored twice in extra time to win. Matlock Town Wanderers took on NAPIT ONE title hopefuls FC Britannia who were just that bit too strong for Wanderers, beating them 5-1. Also progressing to the next round are Tibshelf Town who beat Welcome Tavern Belper 2-1.

In the junior section Dronfield Wanderers dispatched Chesterfield Arms 7-0, Mark Woods scoring four. Brampton Brewery beat Oxcroft Utd 4-1, Lowgates Sports won 2-0 at Markham Arms, Newbold Sports thrashed Boot and Shoe 7-1, David Brent hitting another treble, Gate Inn North Wingfield beat Woodville 3-0, Steelmelters edged out Codnor Athletic 4-3 and in a Dronfield derby Miners beat Town 9-1 with Wood scoring four, Williams and Bateman two each and Hamilton one. An amazing game between AFC Bolsover and Littleover HM saw the teams tied 5-5 after ninety minutes and 6-6 after extra time, Bolsover eventually winning the ensuing penalty shoot- out 3-1. Clowne Wanderers Reserves visited Abbey Court Car Sales and beat them 2-1 whilst AFC North Wingfield easily beat Alfreton Town Juniors 5-0, Neil Towndrow scoring a couple, New Whitt B lost 3-1 to Pilsley, Newton George and Dragon lost 3-0 to Woodthorpe Inn and also exiting the competition were Fidlers Rest beaten 1-0 by FC Chaddesden 2013 however Hady Villa took their excellent league form into the cup to beat Renishaw MW Reserves 2-0, Adam Price and Andy Laming with the goals.
