In the Premier division Pac Builders came out on top 3-2 in a competitive game with Fad Continentals. The game started brightly with Pac enjoying the better of the opening exchanges and they deservedly took the lead when Adam Thompson was brought down in the box, Thompson took the penalty himself to open the scoring. Fad rallied, and were unlucky not to equalize when the ball came crashing back off the bar to safety. Continued Fad pressure paid off after the break when they were awarded a penalty, which Daniel Roger dispatched with ease. Minutes later, Fad swept into the lead when Lee Ebanks was on hand to finish off a good move. The third penalty of the game was awarded to Pac and Adam Thompson stepped up to score his second and bring the score level at 2-2. In the final minutes it was man of the moment Adam Thompson who rose to head home his second hat trick of the season and ensure victory for Pac Builders.
Whiteleas have made a great start to the season and their third straight win was an impressive 3-0 victory over last seasons champions Boldon Shack. Andrew Hall had a good game for Shack and was nominated their star man, but an Owen Peterson inspired Whiteleas were always in charge and the win was achieved with two goals from Simon Traynor and a third from substitute Nick Smith.
Elmfield SC went into their game with Jarrow Deneside with plenty of confidence after scoring seven against Brighams last week. However they met a very strong and determined team in Deneside who ran out 5-3 winners with strikes from Paul Chow (2), Jamie Ellrington, Peter King and Steven Martin. Chris McDonald, Joe McCaffrey and Steve Cockburn replied for Elmfield.
When your team score six and you get a hat trick you?d think you would be happy but that wasn?t the case for poor Chris Farnum of Marsden Inn Strollers as his team went down 8-6 to Robin Hood for whom Mark McShane went one better to grab 4 goals. Other scorers for Robin Hood were Dan Smith, Ian Hudson, Aaron Todd and Steve Hunt; while Gary Brook, Andy Hally and Alan Richards got Marsden?s other three goals.
