A round-up of the action from Week 6 of the SERIE 6-A-Side League

The competitive phase of the SERIE 6-A-Side league kicked off this week on the Astro-Turf Pitch on Clifton Campus, with teams now playing for trophies following five weeks of seeding matches.

In SERIE A, Seeding Group 1 winners Destiny took on the watertight defense of Ajax Trees Down. Despite being the first team to score past Ajax's goalkeeper (who had been unavailable in Ajax's only loss so far this year), Ajax's fluid attack ultimately proved too strong for Destiny who ran out 2-1 winners. In the second SERIE A match of the day an under-strength Scoregasm Japan took on Seeding Group 2 winners, the free scoring Defenders Assemble. Though they were aided by a cameo from a mystery goalkeeper that kept the score level till half time, Scoregasm's defense was finally worn down, leaving the final score 4-0 to Defenders Assemble.

In SERIE B, the anticipated rematch between of the first Seeding Group 2 game between Trent Architects and Defenders Assemble failed to materialize, as late illnesses left the Architects unable to field a team and Titus to pick up the three points by default. The second SERIE B game was another rematch from the seeding phase, as Cease Hiders faced 2 Goals 1 Cup. When they last met 2 Goals had prevailed 3-2, and the scoreline was repeated again this time round, though credit must be given to Cease Hiders who played the whole game with only 5 players and can count themselves unfortunate not to come away from the game with a point.

Week 7's fixtures in SERIE A see Defenders Assemble looking to extend their lead at the top when they meet an Egypt FC coming off the back of a Bye Week, whilst Scoregasm Japan and Destiny will be looking to kick start their campaigns when they meet for the second time this year. In SERIE B Cease Hiders will be looking for a win to move themselves level at the top of the table with their opponents Titus Bramble's Frisky Fingers, whilst Peverell Plebs open their campaign with a match against Trent Architects.
