MATCH DAY 28 (MARCH 10th 2024) REPORT.

Hearty Goodfellow and Rumour Mill (Barwell) book Cup Final places.
Hearty Goodfellow knocked highflying Haunchwood Sports out of the LEAGUE ONE CHALLENGE TROPHY to book themselves a Cup Final date with Royal Trent. Danny Moreton hit 2 and Morgan Lewis the other as they won 3-2. The Haunchwood goals came from Gregg Maughan and Jack Webb.
Rumour Mill (Barwell) are another team to earn themselves a Cup Final date as they beat SS Bulls Head 5-0 in the LEAGUE THREE CHALLENGE TROPHY Semi Final. Joe Randle, Isaac Hendon, Olly Walker, Danny Winterbotham and Ellis Green with the goals.
In the PREMIER LEAGUE CHALLENGE TROPHY, Witherley United saw off Griff and Coton Manor 4-1 thanks to goals from James Grimes, Shaun Clarke, Ricky Luke and Reece Johnstone. Jordan Jacques scored for Griff. Witherley will face Ridge Lane in the Semi Final.
Newdigate United executed yet another giant killing as they sent Swan Dive packing from the VERNON BAGGOTT MEMORIAL CUP. Kai Smith hit 2 and Jay Galloway the other as they ended the game 3-2 winners. Sushant Magar and Jeevon Gurung were on target for Swan Dive.
Another side through in the VERNON BAGGOTT are Royal Trent as they look to get to their second Cup Final of the season. A hat trick from Michael Sadler, the pick of the bunch being a 30 yard free kick into the top corner, a brace for Reece Rawlings and singles from Reigan Duffy and Clayton Moore ensured them of a 7-3 victory over Saunders Hall. Brandon Bugeja, Kieran McCurley and Ira Rowe were on target for Saunders.
In the first round of the LEAGUE THREE CHALLENGE CUP, Bedworth Bank dismantled Griff and Coton Manor Reserves 12-1 to book them a Quarter Final tie with Newdigate United. Hat tricks for Zak Bhara and Elliot Harris, 2 a piece for Conor Wood and David Hewitt and a Jack Price & Brad Kindon singles with the goals. Luke Watling scored what would only be a consolation for Griff.
Weddington Athletic are also through to the Quarter Finals as they beat Attleborough Sports 3-0, this time on a pitch that didn’t resemble a duck pond. Callum Manning, Jake Temple and Lee Oddy with the goals.
In the NDSFL PREMIER LEAGUE, Frank Parker picked up a 4-0 win over Ambleside. Liam Potter and Vinny Glaznieks both scoring braces.
Coniston Tavern and Bedworth Liberal played out a 4-4 draw in NDSFL LEAGUE ONE. Ashley Clark scored 2 and singles from Denzil Richards and James Sidwell with the Coniston goals. Ryan Jones, Josh Stokes, Kelvin Ethridge and Reece Smith on target for the Liberals.
Liam O’Rourke and Noel Gilbert scored goals for Desford-Caterpillar as they drew 2-2 with Barwell Cricketers. Conor Beasley was on hand with a brace to make sure the points were shared.
Athletico Duke took a huge step towards the MARK BLAIR LEAGUE TWO title as they overcame 2nd place Bedworth Ex-Servicemen 5-2. Braces from Tyler McNally and Braydon York backed up by a Nathan Turner single ensured the Duke remain unbeaten at the top. Jamie Matthews and Harvey Westwood scored the goals for the Servicemen.
Bermuda Park climb to 3rd as goals from Scott Hall, Lewis Davis and Steven Pywell made sure of a 3-2 win over Ashby Road Sports. Jake Hughes and Ross Waters scored for Ashby Road.
Witherley United Reserve’s promotion push suffered a setback back as they were beaten 3-1 by Crows Nest Sports. Daniel Guise scored 2 and Liam Hill the other to give Crows Nest a much needed win. Jordan Coles finding the net for Witherley.
Conny United are the in form team in League Two of late and they again eased to victory. This week Acorn were the victims as Conny won 7-3. Substitute Dan Hendrie top scored with a hat trick. Arlie Greet, Connor Wainwright, Zion Bray and debutant Ben Bates scored the others. Josh Kelly scored 2 and Alex Chinn the single for Acorn.
2 goals for Tom Scott and singles from Daniel Talbot-Foster, Paul Brown and Steven Dingley ensured Travs picked up 3 points as they beat Sunnyside 5-2. Jagtar Mander and Ashley Jones scored for Sunnyside.
In NUNEATON TROPHIES LEAGUE THREE Hearty Goodfellow Reserves picked up a 4-1 win over Anchor Inn (Hartshill) thanks to goals from Connor Woolaston, Macaulay Fellows and 2 from their top goal scorer Josh Wilkes. Matt Wyant scored the Anchor goal.
Lamb and Flag travelled to Heath Lane Academy where they overcame Earl Shilton Town 3-0. Jude Barnett hit 2 and Jack Starkey the other to get the job done for Flag.
Hinckley Wanderers excellent run in the Leicestershire Sunday Trophy County Cup was ended as they narrowly lost out to Oadby Owls Men's Reserves 4-2. Tom Silcock and a Danny Hounslea penalty were on target for the Hinckley side who can be proud of their run to the Semi Final.
