The first round of NAPIT mid-week fixtures took place on Tuesday night and for NAPIT FIVE side Newbold Sports David Brent it was a night to savour as he hit a double hat trick in sides 8-3 win over Gate Inn, a victory which leaves Sports as the early season leaders. Following close behind are Clowne Wanderers Sports Reserves who recorded a second 3-0 win in three days. They and opponents Dunston Rovers played out a goal less first half but three second half goals sealed the victory for Wanderers. Hasland Community hit the ground running with goals from Jack Alcock, Gary Neath, Mick Smith, Tony Crookes and Nick Holt earning them a 5-2 win over Holmehall 1ST. Goals from Will Holmes and Tom Harrison saw Palterton Sporting beat Spital 2-1 whilst Brampton Brewery beat Brimington Utd 5-2.

In NAPIT SIX Hady Villa, Clay Cross Athletic, Barlow Kingston Rovers and Fidlers Rest all won their second game in three days. Villa’s second win came at the expense of Hasland WMC, courtesy of goals from Ian Heath who scored twice and Craig Smedley. Athletic thrashed Boythorpe 8-1 with J Bailey scoring four goals, J Ritchie two and Alton and Boston one apiece. Stevenson and Rhodes scored Rovers goals in a 2-0 win over Holmehall 2ND, whilst Fidlers match winners were Maidens, Stokes and Wildman in a hard fought 3-2 win over Crown Killamarsh. New side Renishaw MW Reserves lost on Sunday but on Tuesday win number one came along, Bulls Head being beaten 4-0, Anthony Deane scoring all four. In the divisions’ other game Dronfield Wanderers and Markham Arms drew 2-2, Martin and McCarry scoring Wanderers goals.

Oxcroft Utd made it six points from six in SEVEN with a narrow 4-3 win over Grassmoor Sports Reserves, Tony Roe scoring twice, Adam Kimberley and substitute Luke Kidger once each. Likewise Duckmanton Community repeated the feat with a thrilling 6-5 win over Grassmoor Gladiators. In contrast it’s two defeats from two for Dronfield Town who lost 5-3 at Britannia Tupton for whom Ben Sheldon scored twice, McElroy, Sambrook and Smith once. Finally Boot and Shoe beat Spartans 2ND 5-2.
