WINTER & SPRING LEAGUES
Hopefully next week will be putting together the plan for most of the season going forward at u10s
The plan is to give all teams 3 Competitions as per FA rules, 2 of these on a home/away basis and one at a central venue with a bigger League.
Teams have had a CUP in Groups the next 2 will be either League of 6 and for most this will be in March and a League of 9 to 11 teams played over 4/5 weeks at a Central venue
YEL plan is as follows
The top 20 to 22 teams will play in a central Venue 4 week League in November/December (Arnold) and then 6 team home home/away league in March with friendlies on other dates
The middle 20 to 22 teams will play in a central Venue 4 week League in January (Clifton) and then 6 team home home/away league in March with friendlies on other dates
The lower 20 to 24 teams will play in a 6 team home/away league in November and then 4 week central venue (Clifton) in March with friendlies on other dates.
The Central venue games are 2 per week 20 minutes and cost is £15 per week covering referees and venue hire, for the next 'Leagues' winners and runners up teams will be invited to the YEL Presentation Days at Concert Hall.
The central venue games are 2 weeks of matches played between 10am and 1130am and 2 weeks of matches between 1130am and 1pm
If any team wishes to opt out of the Central Venue competition we need to know by this Monday 6th October, one u9 team withdrew due to the 2 later kick off times and it created problems with the organised schedule.
If we know by Monday we can try and give that team friendly games instead, anyone with withdrawing after the Leagues have been made will not be given friendly matches.
It would be much easier just doing the big leagues but FA rules dictate its 4 week competitions and hopefully you can see we are trying to provide variety, even though taking up far more time and making Club planning more difficult as we try to get the standards of the events as competitive as possible
