Allen key to Derby Deaf victory
Woodborough United still retain the Runners-Up spot in the Premier Division despite being pipped 3 2 by third placed Old Elizabethans who staged a second half comeback after trailing to two Ricki Thompson goals at half time. Radcliffe Olympic III bounced back from their previous weeks thrashing at the hands of league leaders FC Sutton Foresters by netting three goals without reply from Beeston AFC II. Goals from Nick Richards, Martin Mitchell and Neil Brumfitt produced a victory which lifted Olympic three places to fourth in the Table. Beeston OBA lifted themselves out of the relegation zone when a Ryan Alls double and goals from Gavin Carr, Henry Nash, Jamie Tilford and George Rees Jones went unanswered by Wollaton III. Mansfield Hosiery Mills secured a much needed victory over Bassingfield, who slipped a place to fifth, when they could only manage a solitary Craig Binch reply to an Ashley Swain double and a Keith Walker strike for Mills. Goals from Danny Carter, Zeke Cox and Ross King for Bestwood MWSC went unanswered by Trent Vineyard who now reside in the relegation zone.
Old Elizabethans II, after losing their unbeaten Division 1 league record in their previous match, bounced back by inflicting a 5 - 0 defeat on fourth placed NRU FC and now top the table. Ashfield FCs second successive victory not only lifted the team off the bottom of the table but also left opponents Bridon AFC holding the wooden spoon after Chris Rocks strike was all they could muster against Ashfields two goals. Meanwhile Eaton Hall College continued their good run with a 3 0 victory at the expense of Steelers who were hit by goals from Chris Daly, Tim Devlin and Tom Handley, whilst third placed Moorgreen Reserves were held to a 1 1 draw by Sutton Travellers who benefitted from an Iain Roe penalty.
In Division 2 runaway leaders Watnall Athletic secured an 8 3 victory over AFC South Wingfield 93. Steffen Benbow, Joe Brookes and Paul Randal were all on the double with Andy Sparkes and Colin Woodward each contributing to the Watnall tally whilst Jason Miles with two goals and Paul Evans answered for South Wingfield. In complete contrast to this goal fest neither Old Elizabethans III nor Old Bemrosians could find the net in their encounter whilst a solitary goal from Matt Sisson was all that MAFC required to earn three points at the expense of Nottinghamshire III. Another side which failed to score was Ashfield II who were hit by goals from Adam Allsopp, Neil Hodgson, Fred Danby, Chris Bowles and Ieuan Plume. This 5 0 victory for Southwell St Marys lifted them to third place. Goals from Mike Smedley and Aeron Prudence for Sunnydale were answered by six from Alvaston United whose marksmen were Shane Reid with a hat trick, Callum Arthur, Tom Rutter and Lee Greenlees. Derby Deaf inflicted an unexpected 6 3 defeat on second placed Sherwood Colliery after the sides had been locked at 2 2 at half time. Paul Allens hat-trick for Derby Deaf provided the difference as Collierys goals from Joe Fletcher, Adam Buchanan and Rhys Edmunds were matched by Ali Daziel, Josh Smith and Adam Hegarty.
