FC BURBAGE v TRAVS FC
The 2024-2025 TRIBUNE CHALLENGE CUP got underway this week as 10 teams contested the Preliminary Round.
FC Burbage stunned League Two’s unbeaten leaders Travs, beating them 2-1 thanks to goals from Luke Garner and Lyndon Nicholson. Freddie Wakelin replied for Travs but it was the League Four side’s day and they go into the hat for Round 1.
Ashby Road Sports beat Conny United 4-3 in an all League Two tie. Carr Craddock, Mitch Gaskin, Stefan Green and Ross Waters scored the goals to send them through. Jay Boorman, Mason Heard and Connor Wainwright scored the Conny goals.
Bedworth Poppy's of League One are through to Round 1 but they were made to work hard for it by a resilient Red Lion (Barwell). Goals from Joe joe Wilson and Levi Tindall sent Poppy's into a 2-0 lead before 2 second half Luke Newton strikes drew the Lion level but it was Levi Tindall who slammed home the winner in the last 5 minutes to win it 3-2 for Poppy's.
Jarrod Stone scored 2 for League Three SS Bulls Head as the claimed the scalps of League Two Hinckley Wanderers. Ryan Brightwell, Kyle Olner and an own goal with the others saw them come out 5-3 winners. Danny Hounslea, Mitch Elson and Kobi Jones scored the Wanderers goals.
Frank Mayne scored a hat trick for The Wharf Inn as they beat Attleborough Sports 5-0. George Kersey scored the other 2 goals.
Matt Burt scored the only goal of the game as Wykin Social picked up a 1-0 win over Drayton in ANCHOR INN HARTSHILL - PREMIER LEAGUE..
Ex-Servicemen Bedworth are clear at the top of TRIPLE R PAINWORX LTD LEAGUE ONE. Kielan Thackeray scored a hat trick to earn them a 4-0 win over Barwell Cricketers. Jamie Matthews scored the other.
Drayton Reserves jump above their opponents Griff and Coton Manor into 3rd thanks to a 4-2 win. Lewis Collins scored a hat trick and Reigan Duffy the other for Drayton. Ben Covill and Ryan Drake scored for Griff and Coton Manor.
The only game in MARK BLAIR FINANCE LEAGUE TWO saw Newdigate United close the gap on leaders Travs to 2 points as they won 9-0 over Swan Dive. Tom Noon scored his third hat trick of the season to take his tally to 13. The other goals came from Callum Pinto, Kai Smith, Ellis Busby, Sam Leary, Dlaine James and an own goal.
Grendon went top of NUNEATON TROPHIES LEAGUE THREE after goals from Brett Clark and Kai Evans captured them a 2-0 win against Acorn.
Chetwynd Chess sit 2nd only on goal difference as they picked up a 4-1 win over Sunnyside Inn. Simeon Townsend scored a hat trick and William Taylor the other for Chetwynd. Callum Manning scored the Sunnyside goal.
Bradley Constable, Axel Edie, Liam Holmes and Jamie McNamara scored the goals to earn Bedworth Eagles a 4-3 win over Bedworth Liberal. The win keeps Eagles 3 points clear at the top of RICHARD DUNN LEAGUE FOUR. William Roe scored 2 and Jacob Field replied for the Libs.
Lamb and Flag sit 2nd with a game in hand as they beat Sunnyside United 3-1. Jude Barnett, Aaron Hutchinson and James Rooke scored the Flag goals. Adrian Talbot found the net for Sunnyside.
Alex Lock scored a hat trick for Attleborough Royal Oak as they hit 9 past Griff and Coton Manor Reserves. Jacob Bryan and Jake Warmington scored 2 each with the singles coming from Liam Finlayson and Daniel Richards. George Langley scored the Griff consolation as the game finished 9-1.
Lord Nelson edged out Ex-Servicemen Bedworth Reserves 5-4 to go 4th thanks to a hat trick from Aidan Sanders. Tom Guild and Kieran McCurley scored the other Nelson goals. Dave Baynham, Dalton Fairbrother, Lennon Jones and Tommy Parsons scored for the Servicemen.
Hearty Goodfellow welcomed North Solihull Athletic to Pauls Land in the BCFA ROGER WOOD MEMORIAL CUP. Steven Pywell scored the Hearty goal but it was the Solihull side who go into the next round, winning the game 3-1.
