The first of the Season's NAPIT LEAGUE domestic cup sem-finals took place at the ground of Claycross Town on Sunday. In the ALMA NAPIT TWO outfit Silver Birches took on the might of Hasland and were undone by the exploits of striker Lee Clay. On Thursday evening Clay hit four goals to take his season's tally to twenty-two and after this game it stands at twenty-six as he amazingly hit four more to make it eight in two games.

Duckmanton Community and Oxcroft Utd played out an excellent game in the HUTSON which Duckmanton won by the odd goal in five. In the league the sides sit in first and second place respectively and drew 1-1 in the league in September and have yet to meet again. N Grayson scored both Utd goals but strikes from Sheppard, Dove and Weaver earned Duckmanton a place in the final.

Woodthorpe Inn were also in cup action ad they took on RB Sinfin in the semi- final of the Derbyshire Junior Sunday Cup. Inn had done remarkably well to reach the semi, beating some excellent sides along the way but on the day they just came up short, losing by two goals to nil.

Hasland moved to the top of ONE after a straightforward 7-1 victory over Brampton Rovers on Thursday evening but their stay, for the time being, was short lived as Killamarsh Juniors Athletic regained pole position with a 3-1 victory over Clowne Wanderers, Montell scoring twice, Stanley once, thereby gaining some revenge for their 2-1 defeat to Wanderers in the corresponding fixture in September. Brampton Rovers have just three games remaining in which record their first win of the season following their 2-2 draw with AFC Whitecotes, their fourth draw. On target for Rovers were Scattergood and Whitworth whilst Whitecotes goals came from Harcourt and Spencer.

In THREE Dronfield Woodhouse moved to within a point of second placed AFC Bolsover after goals from Adam Fordham and Dan Sharpe secured them a 2-0 victory over Newton George and Dragon.

AFC North Wingfield moved four points clear at the top of FOUR following a comfortable 3-1 win at Harley's Scarlets in which Andy Woolvern hit his twenty- second goal of the campaign, Harris and Smith also on the score-sheet. Steelmelters are third a point behind Dronfield Miners, their latest success coming at the expense of bottom club Spartans whom they beat by two goals to nil, Steve Mansell scoring both goals.

The top two in NAPIT FIVE both won, leaders Clowne Wanderers Reserves hammering Spital 8-1 with Rodgers scoring four times, Dodsworth, Peake, Cooper and Boyle once each. They remain six points ahead of Hasland Community who beat Palterton Sporting Club 3-1, Andy Powers hitting a double, the third an own goal. Wanderers remain favourites to lift the title as they have four games left to play, Hasland two. Towards the bottom of the division Holmehall 1st faced an up-hill battle at Old Whittington MW as they only had nine players available for selection. Sure enough Whittington soon made their numerical advantage count as they raced into a two goal lead however the nine men gave a good account of themselves before eventually losing 5-2, Wilson scoring two of the winning goals, E Clarke, S Clarke and Smith one each. The division's other game ended in a stalemate as Brimington Utd drew 1-1 at Gate Inn North Wingfield, Utd finishing the game with nine men due to injury.

In SIX Furnace Hill Hurricanes blew Holmehall 2nd away putting nine goals past them without reply. Two players hit trebles Alton and Jarvis, Wilson adding two, Bailey one. A much closer contest took place at Markham Arms as the hosts and visitors Fidlers Rest shared six goals and the points. Gregory, Taylor and Hinchcliffe scored for the Arms, Amissah, Stokes and Maidens doing likewise for Fidlers Rest.

One game took place in SEVEN with Squadron Medical winning 6-2 at Brimington Club.
