The game of the day saw the top two in the A division meet as Ship took on Vets Reunited. The game was played in very difficult blustery conditions but despite that turned out to be a cracker, Ship took the lead with a great finish from Nick Quinn as his shot arrowed into the top corner giving Simon Parkin in the Vets goal no chance. In the second half Vets introduced new signing Stuart Lane who had an immediate affect when he hit the post, Vets continued to press and were rewarded with the equalizer with a fine header from Tony Fenwick. Ship responded immediately, and within a couple of minutes were ahead again as a mix up in central defence allowed Ian Kinlato to score. Ship then increased their lead as Pheraz Izmail hit a cracker into the top corner. Vets never gave up and when Stuart Lane glanced in a header from a corner to make it 2-3 the game was back on. However both defences remained resolute and no further goals ensued.

In the same division Ellison got revenge over Simonside for there early season cup defeat with a 4-3 win. Ellison came back after being behind on 3 occasions as Sima lead through strikes from Shaun Nesbitt (2) and Mark Smith. Robby Allan got all 4 goals for Ellison with the winner coming in the last minute.

Finally in the A division Prince Edward Pirates were disappointed with their performance as they gifted three first half goals to Grey Hen Rangers which were gratefully accepted by Roy Luther, David Forster and Grant Callender.

In the premiership league cup Deneside edged out their Jarrow rivals Primrose to make it through to the semi final. After a cautious opening it was Primrose who took the lead through their star man David Newton somewhat against the run of play. Deneside continued to press and drew level through Craig Russell. The wind was becoming a bigger factor in the game but it didn?t stop Primrose taking the lead again with a good goal from Jon Kirvan. Deneside equalised again through the impressive Lee Buglass. Extra time couldn?t separate the teams and so it went to penalties, Martin Melia saved three penalties and veteran David Moore came off the subs bench to score the decisive penalty to take Deneside through.

In the B division league cup semi final The Bridge ran out 2-1 winners against Riverside after extra time. Neither side could get a foothold on the game because of the blistering winds and there was no real chances in the first half as they went into the interval 0-0. It was a slow start to the second half but Jordan Sharp put the Riverside 1-0 up after a goalmouth scramble from a corner. That goal brought the Bridge to life but they could not find an opening until 15 minutes from time when Carl Drew showed blistering pace down the wing to cross for Philip Ormonde to slot home the equaliser. With the game heading for extra time, the Bridge thought they had snatched it at the death only for the Riverside keeper to pull off a trio of fine saves. Extra time didn?t offer much of a spectacle as both teams tired but with five minutes remaining, The Bridge were awarded a penalty after Riversides defender saved a Paul Cook header with his hand. Up stepped Stephen Howes who missed the initial penalty but tucked away the rebound to send the 70 plus Bridge crowd delirious.

The Bridge will meet Hebburn Colliery Club in the final who overcame Selwoods Again 6-1 thanks to two goals apiece from Craig Gardner and Michael Younger, Michael Gallagher and sub Karl Foster also chipped in with a goal apiece. Steven Temple got Selwoods consolation goal.
