Working with School Sports Partnerships, North Riding County FA is proposing a series of primary and secondary school leagues funded by Tesco, the FA?s women & girls partner.
The FA?s targets for 2008 inlcude more female players; more female coaches and more opportunties to play.
By creating leagues within schools, more girls than ever will have an opportunity to try and play regular football. It is hoped that having played at school, players will continue to play and join local clubs providing the impetus to establish new teams.
