Basingstoke United looked to have their Peter Raynbird Cup against well placed Division One DJS Telecoms in the bag when leading 3-0,
but eventually they made their exit beaten 4-3. Ash Pearce took on keeper Chris McKenzie in a one on one to give them the lead in the 20th and a free kick taken by Ryan Bennett proved too good for the keeper for the second and Tom Hartley scored the third from the edge of the box. Allan Morgan pulled a goal back for DJS who then brought on substitute Lee Neal and he was to make the difference for he scored twice to level the scores by the 71st minute. With only a couple of minutes left before extra time would have been played, United conceded a free kick, it was taken by Shaun Blackman and proved too good for keeper Dan Chapman.
In Division Two Basingstoke Labour Club had their first league win of the season when beating AFC Berg 3-2 and it sent their opponents to the bottom of the league. Matt Kelly took on two men after receiving a through ball from Cameron George in the 15th minute for their lead A Wayne Barlow corner kick was headed in by George for a 2-0 lead by the 23rd. Olly Davies put away a penalty and Berg sub. Shane West made it 2-2. Mark Forbes scored the Labour winner in the 72nd following another Barlow corner kick, but a vital penalty save by Sam White saw them hang on to their victory. It was rare goalless draw at Berrydown where AFC Aldermaston visited. Darren Heath in the Aldermaston goal played his part with two fine saves, but credit also goes to the Overton keeper Gregor Restell who pulled of an excellent save in the final minute when Mark James broke through, forced the save and then headed to rebound into the side netting. .Bounty United came back from trailing 3-1 to get a point from their visit to Preston Canodver, when three points would have taken them to the top of the table. but in the end they had Matt Love took a pass from Mitchell Stokes to give Bounty a tenth minute lead, but Preston hit back to level through Richard Spiers and then two volleys from Joe Tomlinson put them 3-1 ahead and it would have been four had a header from Paul Eldridge found the net instead of hitting the bar. Love led the comeback with his second and when Bounty were awarded a penalty for handball, Stokes was unable to beat the newly signed keeper James Skirving, who pulled off fine diving save It was substitute Aaron Parfitt who broke away in the 75th minute, cut in and his rising shot was too good for Skirving..
