Basingstoke Royals strengthened their lead in the Premier Division by beating rivals Hook 1-0 at home to remain unbeaten and with seven matches left to play

They are now eight points clear with a match in hand. The only goal in this tough game where there was six bookings, three for each team, came in the 60th minute when Steve Price took advantage after a quick free kick and it caused confusion in the Hook defence. Richard Munday, the Royals keeper played his part in keeping Hook at bay, pulling off some very good saves from Jon Noakes before they scored and both Andy Parker and Arron King found him unbeatable.
There were plenty of goals at Barlow’s Park where Tadley Calleva A entertained Bramley United and the outcome was an 8-6 win for Tadley, with another five for their striker Kyle Theodore. It was Michael Abbott who opened the scoring for Tadley, but United were soon drew level through Adam Bartlett. Theodore added two more before Sam Cato made it 3-2 with a 50 yard strike, but Abbott replied again before the half time whistle. Two more for Theordore, but again Bramley came back with a Harry Elliott goal, but red hot Theodore soon netted his fourth. Back came Bramley with a Ben Squibb penalty, but there was no holding Theodore who then made it 7-4. United came again with goals from Squibb and a Les Wood header, but there was no further come back as Lee Champion scored the eighth for the home team.
It was an 11-1 win for Sherborne St John on their visit to Newfound to play Welly Old Boys. Dec Shuttleworth scored the first four goals, including a penalty and further goals from Spencer Champ, Ibrahim Waheed and Alex Izzo saw Sherborne St John seven up at the break. Tom Brickley, Izzo, Waheed and the best of the eleven was their last, with a Peter Dixon volley. The Welly goal came at 11-00 when Sam LeFlem chipped Matt Livingstone, again in the Sherborne goal.

In Division One the fight for the Runners Up Shield continued with two of the candidates DJS Telecoms and Hampshire Irons fighting out a 3-3 draw and Twentyten defeating top of the pile Overton United A. Jay Greene gave Irons a fifth minute lead after playing a one two with Olly Owen and it became 2-0 five minutes later when Tom Chant headed home a cross from Chris Arnold. DJS replied with a header from Nathan Lawson following a Lee Neal cross and two minutes into the second half George Lagden made it 2-2. In the 65th a corner from Green led to Pete Lomax heading into his own goal, but DJS salvaged a point when Lagden scored from a free kick.
After a tight last ten minutes DJS ended with ten men when Paul Dolan was sent off. Twentyten only have to win their remaining four matches and they will finish Runners Up after defeating the Champions 1-0 at Berrydown. True Overton A had five regulars missing and Manager Danny Smith had to play, but they were still quite strong. The opposition manager Alan Spacagna felt his side were much better and Overton were never really in the game and the score should have been much more than one, he thought.. The goal that decided it came in the 30th minute when Christian Cox played a good ball through and Joe Hill and it was an excellent finish from their top scorer. Only some good saves from the keeper stopped Hill, Franklin Spacagna and Cox adding to the score.
The local derby between Hook Reserves and North Warnborough ended in a 4-2 win for Hook. With a team mainly youngsters, Borough have struggled this season and went a goal down with goals from Stacey Harris and Dave Mohammad. Bradley Yates then struck a free kick to put Borough back in the game, but back came Hook to make it 3-1 through Jack McKee. Yates scored again with ten minutes left, but an error at the back led to substitute Sean Eccott scoring another for Hook.

There is no change at the top of Division Two with leaders Basingstoke Labour Club beating Preston Candover 5-2. Cameron George was again in top form scoring four of the five. Matt Kelly opened the scoring in the 15th minute after chasing a long clearance from keeper Sam White. Kyle Buckland equalized for Preston, but soon after this George took a pass from Kelly for this first and then headed Labour into a 3-1 interval lead. George completed his straight hat trick from another Kelly assist, but Buckland kept Preston in with a chance by netting a pass from Luke Coleman. Preston pressed strongly and two goal line clearances from Rylan Willows stopped them equalizing. George calmed the situation by coming up with his fourth from yet another Kelly through ball.
Basingstoke Athletic keep on the leaders tails with a comfortable 3-0 win against Overton United B. Roman Vanik gave them a 30th minute lead, set up by Dave Trevelion, but Overton had a great chance to level when awarded a penalty in the 51st.. Darren White took the kick, hit the bar and then struck the bar again from the rebound. Four minutes later Athletic went two goals up when new signing Michael Borbely played a one two with Ryan Evans. The third came five minutes from time when a low shot from Trevelion crept into the far corner.
Winklebury Wizards retuned to winning form by beating bottom club Sherborne St. John Reserves 5-0, with all five goals coming in the first half. Josh Dickens gave them a tenth minute lead from a Matt Lowe pass and soon after this Robson Peiripa netted from a Dan Goodyear cross. Hugo Carlos and Lowe combined to give Ben Clarke his chance to make it 3-0 from a tight angle and Carlos flicked on for Ryan Watts to beat keeper Russ Hancock. Just before half time Hancock could only parry a shot from Clarke and Lowe followed up to net the rebound. Only a series of fine saves by Hancock kept it at five during the goal less second half.
A fine save by James Sallows from a penalty taken by Adam Francis stopped Herriard taking the lead in the 16th minute in their very tight 1-0 away win against Basingstoke United. Tom Hartley forced a good save from Herriard keeper John Hamill and Callum Silcox hit a great chance wide for United. Herriard had the edge in the second half when Sallows was tested with shots from Sam Weber and Karl Buttle, but in the 85th minute he was beaten. Craig Lewington took a quick free kick some 80 yards out and it was met with a 20 yard volley from substitute Matthew Cook to win the game.
AFC Berg won 5-0 against AFC Aldermaston A and now eleven points has been picked up from their last six matches to move three points clear of the bottom two. A cross from Richard McCoubrie led to Alan Allayne taking advantage of an error by keeper Darren Heath and in the 30th Matt Goodman made it 2-0. Goodman then scored again and further shots from Allayne and sub. Nick Tucker went past Heath without reply.
