Division One
Sherborne St John are now on level points with the leaders Hook following their 2-1 win at Preston Candover against Twentyten Alan Spacagna is still wondering how his team lost this one and even the Sherborne manager Trevor Livingstone admitted they rode their luck and could have lost by three or four with better finishing from the opposition.
It was Sherborne taking the lead after 30 minutes when they were awarded a penalty for a foul by Christian Cox on Tobi Judd. Ibrahim Waheed took the spot kick, it was saved by Jack Nicholson, but Judd followed up to net the rebound. Numerous chances fell to Twentyten and eventually they drew level when Ryan Lupton equalized after playing a one two with Jack Clarke. This was in the 58th minute and a minute later Sherborne went down to ten men. Ronnie Tamale had already been booked by Referee Tony Lane in the first half and after another poor challenge received a second yellow. Clarke and Joe Osborne missed good chances to go ahead for the home side and then in the 75th Sherborne on a rare sortie at the other end, regained the lead. It came from a long throw by Judd, was not cleared well and fell to Tom Brickley, his control was good and his shot on the turn beat Nicholson in off the post. More chances were spurned by Twentyten and in the last minute Joe Hill missed a sitter for them.
Matt Kelly scored a hat trick for Basingstoke Labour Club against DJS Telecoms but it was not enough to win the points at stake as his side went down 5-4 in the end, with Lee Neal scoring the late decider. Kelly gave Labour Club a first minute lead, but a deflected shot in off Mel Craggs leveled it up and with Kelly scoring again and Cameron George making it 3-3 DJS were 4-3 up at the break. Kelly soon made it 4-4 and it remained level until Lee Neal, who had scored earlier, came up with his second and the winner, a 25 yard shot following a quick free kick. The DJS other scorers were Nick Saunders, Allan Morgan and Jason Freathy
Division Two
There are changes at the top of the Division Two table with Herriard Sports having a week off and Tron involved in cup action, Overton United B leap into top spot with a two point lead after beating Basingstoke Athletic Reserves 3-0. This was no easy win, for in fact it was not until the 72nd minute when the deadlock was broken.. It was an error by the Athletic keeper Luke Allison that handed Nathan Rae his chance to plant into the top corner. Athletic changed their formation with three at the back and were unlucky when a shot by Aohdan Fitzsimons hit the post with keeper Liam Randall well beaten and only a great save by Randall stopped Matt Dean scoring the equalizer with a 25 yards drive. Overton came again in the closing stages, with substitute Jessie Todd making to 2-0 and the third from Rae from a Joe Holder assist.
Bounty United move into second spot after hammering AFC Berg 8-0 at Brighton Hill and with just one defeat look on course for promotion. with Matt Love on top form scoring four of the goals. His first for the lead came from a far post header following a Simon Farrell cross. Andy Darmody lobbed the second from a Craig Williamson pass and by half time it was 4-0 when Mitchell Stokes scored twice, the second from a penalty. Love soon completed his hat trick after the interval and Darmody netted his second and Love scored his fourth and the eighth past keeper Simon Edwards.
