Killamarsh Juniors Athletic are the new leaders of the NAPIT FIRST DIVISION following their 7-2 trouncing of Hepthorne Lane, one point above Hasland who didn’t play, however Hasland do have three games in hand. Strangely three of Athletic’s goals were in fact own goals. FC Britannia moved up to third as goals from Nico De Girolamo, Andrew Scragg and Nathan Whitehead just saw them sneak past Bolsover Town SC 3-2. Eckington Boys and Renishaw MW were involved in a tense match which eventually ended with the sides sharing the spoils as the game ended level at 3-3, Wilson scoring twice, Garnett once for Eckington, Furniss, Gee-Pemberton and Talbot doing likewise for Renishaw.

New Whitt are six points clear of Grassmoor Sports, who also won, in TWO. Whitt thumped FC Brimington 6-2, G Hannaby hitting a treble, A Lalli two and G Weston one, whilst two goals from Grant Mitchell secured Sports a 2-1 victory over Brampton Rovers JMA.

In NAPIT THREE leaders Matlock Town Wanderers travelled to AFC Bolsover and suffered only their second reverse of the season, Rushby and Taylors goals securing Bolsover a 2-0 win. Taking full advantage of Wanderers slip West Killamarsh steamrollered Newton George and Dragon 9-0 to replace them at the top. The goals flew in at regular intervals for Wests, four of them coming from J Woodhead, two from L Edge plus one each from A Jessop, S McCall and K Shaw. Creswell Black Diamond produced a top performance at Red Lion Whitt Moor to beat their hosts 3-1, Connor Marsden, Danny Murdock and Steve Colbert’s goals moving their side from the foot of the division with what was only the clubs second win of the campaign. The mid-table clash between Brickmakers and Beechers Brook went the way of the latter who won by four goals to two, Linacre, Parsons, Tyler and Bally scoring the match winning goals.

Brimington Park Colts continue to head NAPIT THREE despite being un-ceremoniously hammered 8-1 by AFC North Wingfield. Former Grassmoor Sports star Andy Woolvern has always had an eye for goal, none more so in this game when he scored four of the eight goals. Craig Collins also had an excellent game, scoring three times with Callum Baston also on target. Spartans were another side to suffer a heavy defeat, going down by the same score to Newbold. Wayne Garrity was another man to hit four goals, Gareth Melan and Darren Wilkinson both scoring twice. Harleys Scarlets moved from the foot of the table after goals from Brough and Holmes secured them a 2-1 victory over Lowgates Sports Club. Former leaders Pilsley lost for the second time in seven days going down 2-1 at Dronfield Miners for whom Oli Wood scored both goals.

First and second met in FIVE with second placed Hasland Community drawing 3-3 with leaders Clowne Wanderers Reserves. Both sides have had fantastic season’s to date, suffering just one defeat between them, that when Wanderers beat Hasland in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season. Holmehall 1ST moved from second bottom to third from bottom following their close 4-3 win over Palterton Sporting Club, Wildman scoring twice in the win, Start and Wake once.

Crown Killamarsh stay one point ahead of Hady Villa in SIX after easily beating Renishaw MW Reserves 6-0, Whitehouse scoring a couple. Villa also won, their success coming at the expense of Furnace Hill Hurricanes whom they beat 3-0, Andy Laming, Jack Wynn and Craig Smedley scoring in their latest success. Fidlers Rest were big winners, humbling Boythorpe 8-0. Stokes scored two of Fidlers winners, Newbold, Amissah, Hurst, Wildman, Webley and Palmer the others. Holmehall 2ND had lost all seven of their previous fixtures before their game at Dronfield Wanderers, however game in number eight they finally broke their duck by winning 5-3 at Dronfield Miners, Chapman two, Wake two and Watkin with the breakthrough goals. Markham Arms and Hasland WMC had to settle for a point apiece as they drew 3-3.

The top three in SEVEN all won with third placed Oxcroft United’s victory the most emphatic as they destroyed Spartans 2ND 9-0, N Grayson scoring four of the nine. Second placed Duckmanton Community beat Miners and Diners 5-1, Graham Travis scoring a couple, Joe Hill, Kevin Nussey and Mark Reynolds one each. Leaders Brampton Rovers Reserves won their ninth game of the season, 2-1 at Squadron Medical thanks to goals from Ricky Hadfield and Ant Rowe. Brimington Club beat Britannia Tupton 4-2, Paul Buxton hitting four whilst Grassmoor Sports Reserves beat Boot and Shoe 2-0, Ainger and Chambers with the goals.

Games were also played in the Chatsworth Cup and at Brearley Park Jake Blackburn hit all five of Hopflower Athletic’s goals in their 5-3 victory over Old Whittington MW. Darren Singh and Thomas Robinson were the match winners for Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh who beat New Whitt B 2-1. Brampton Brewery and Brimington Utd failed to score in ninety minutes, both sides scoring one each in extra time before the Brewers eventually prevailed 7-6 in the ensuing penalty shoot-out. Newbold Sports in contrast did win their game in the allotted ninety minutes, Bradbury, Chapman, Redman, L Warwick and White’s goals ensuring Spital’s long running losing streak continued.
