Just two games took place in the NAPIT LEAGUES top flight on Sunday with Killamarsh Juniors Athletics 3-1 win over Renishaw MW moving them to within two points of leaders Hasland. Juniors have had an excellent season since gaining promotion at the end of last season and goals from A Parsons, Walker and Holmes saw Juniors complete a league double over Renishaw. The other game saw Eckington Boys take on Clowne Wanderers and beat them 2-1 thanks to goals from Garnett and Townsend. Fellow NAPIT ONE sides Whitecotes and Creswell were also in action, this time in the Derbyshire Senior Sunday Cup with the former easing to a 6-2 victory with Lytham scoring twice, Betteny, Harcourt, Mitchell and Widerman once each.
New Whitt hit the top of TWO as they completely outclassed Wingerworth Barley Mow, thrashing them 11-0. Gary Morton led the way for Whitt scoring four times. Also on target in the rout were Furness and Hannaby who both scored twice, Burton, Mitchell and Lalli. Grassmoor Sports entertained Brampton Rovers JMA and goals from Spencer, Walters, Lambird, Bowman and an own goal earned them a 5-2 victory. Second placed Woodside and fifth placed Tibshelf Town met in the Derbyshire Senior Sunday Cup and goals from Garrard and Vardy for Town and Welch for Woodside saw Town win 2-1 and progress to the third round.
In THREE Beechers Brook started the day in bottom place, a point behind Creswell Black Diamond and two behind Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh, however a 5-0 win over Black Diamond coupled with Steelmelters 7-0 drubbing at the hands of Hopflower Athletic saw them move above both. The goal scorers in Beechers win were Bexton and Linacre who both hit doubles and Longstaffe. West Killamarsh followed up last weeks excellent cup performance with a 3-0 win over Red Lion Whitt Moor, Liam Edge scoring twice, A Unwin once, to move their side up to second.
Pilsleys place at the top of FOUR was taken by Brimington Park Colts who beat them 3-2 in a great game at Bolsover. Both sides played some very good football and the tie could have gone either way before Colts just shaded it thanks to goals from Mosley, Rigley and Smith, Hewitt and Shiels replying for Pilsley who drop to third place following the defeat as Woodthorpe Inn also moved above them after securing a 5-2 win at the expense of Chesterfield Arms. Lynam and Siddall both netting twice, Walsh once. Spartans and Dronfield Miners shared six goals and collected a point each after they drew 3-3, S Ross once and R Tromans twice were Spartans scorers, O Wood twice and Hopwood once, Miners scorers. Also in this division Lowgates Sports Club won 3-2 at Newbold, White, Linney and Hughes scoring the winning goals.
Clowne Wanderers Reserves 4-2 win over Old Whittington MW combined with Newbold Sports 3-1 reverse at Hasland Community saw Wanderers go four points clear at the top of NAPIT FIVE. Cooper scored twice for Wanderers, Robson and Taylor once as the club maintain their un-beaten start to the season. North Wingfield MW are third after they beat local rivals Gate Inn as they too have yet to taste defeat this season. Aaron Large and Curtis Morley both hit doubles for the winners with Ash Walters and Craig Scott scoring one each. Ground sharers Palterton Sporting Club and Spital met and the former won 3-1, Marris on target twice, Lockwood once.
In SIX Fidlers Rest made the journey from their Hillstown home to Barlow to take on Kingston Rovers and returned home with all three points after winning the encounter by three goals to nil, L Carline scoring all three. The other game in the division ended all square with Renishaw MW Reserves drawing 1-1 with Dronfield Wanderers, Deane scoring Renishaws goal, Nisbeth Wanderers.
Brampton Rovers Reserves 2-1 win at Brimington Club moved them up into second place behind leaders Duckmanton Community, who didnt play, in NAPIT SEVEN, Siddall and Montague the match winners for Rovers. Oxcroft Utd moved above Squadron Medical into third place after beating them by the odd goal in seven, Ashley Grayson scoring a couple of goals, Nick Grayson and David McDonald one apiece. Adam Monk scored twice as Boot and Shoe beat Britannia Tupton 4-2, Luke Adlington and Jordan Oakes also scoring. Miners and Diners Mick Lunn and Michael Saville scored as their side beat Spartans 2ND 2-1 whilst Grassmoor Sports Reserves won 4-0 at Glapwell Gladiators, C Bingham, K Bingham, S Chambers and R Maude scoring the winning goals.
In the two Derbyshire Junior Cup ties postponed from the previous week Holmehall 2ND won 3-2 at AFC Bolsover and Steelmelters won 5-1 at Jonty Farmer.
