In Everards Brewery Division One, two sides are still unbeaten, with Leicester Atletico surviving a comeback at home to Ingles Development. Atletico raced into a 3-0 lead at half-time, but Ingles then dragged themselves back into it , and got back to 4-4, before Atletico got a late penalty which they converted to win 5-4 and make it four wins from four. For Atletico, scorers were Jowa Mbome (2), Kadir Fahie, Malcolm Onochie and Yusuf Osman, whilst Ingles' scorers were Luke Allard, Conor Bennett, and subs Owen Brader and Jake Turner.

The other unbeaten side is Anstey Town, who left it late to get over the line against Dunton & Broughton United, eventually winning 3-1, after Jordan Small had scored in the first half for Town and Tom Bennett for DBU, before super-sub Joe Hartopp bagged a brace in the second period for Town that made the difference.

At the other end, Barrow Town Reserves and Sutton Bonington remain the only two sides in Div1 yet to get a point. Sutton had their game called off at home to Hinckley LR Reserves when a morning inspection revealed the pitch to have been damaged after the Main Street ground had been used the week before by a country show. Barrow, for their part, lost 2-1 at Birstall United Reserves, Josh Sands and Nelson Stephens scoring for Birstall, Barrow's scorer not yet in. Sporting Markfield secured their first point of the campaign after a 2-2 draw at Holwell Sports Reserves. Harry Worby scored early for Holwell, Connor Helps then scored for Markfield to leave the scores level at the interval, before Kieran Harding scored in the second period to give Markfield the lead. Despite sub Tom Presbury equalising late on for Holwell, Markfield held on to open their tally for the term.

In Everards Brewery Division Two, St Patricks drew level on points with Loughborough Students Development, who did not play this weekend, as Pats won 1-0 at home to Sileby Town Reserves, Jack Hickey scoring the only goal of the game in the second half. The Students stay ahead of the Pats on goal difference, with both teams looking likely to start pulling away given that they both have a game in hand on their rivals.

Melton Town Academy are the only side in the division yet to pick up points, and continued their tough start to LSL life with a 4-1 defeat at home to Rothley Imperial, Parees Bhima, Luke Denham, George Killen and sub Stephen Allen the scorers for Rothley, Harry Davies providing the second-half consolation for the Academy. Loughborough FC made it three games without defeat with a 6-1 win at home to Desford & Caterpillar Reserves,  Karan Anbhavne, Peter Asomani, Cyrus Brierley, Owen Clarke, Vaibhav Dalpat and Jordan Taylor getting on the scoresheet for Luffs, Callum Carey for Desford, whilst GNG Oadby Development shared the points with Mountsorrel Amateurs in a 2-2 draw at Riverside College, Wiktor Ako and Iwo Finbarr Onyema for GNG, Jake Folwell and Liam Turner- both members of local football dynasties- scoring for Mountsorrel, with all four goals coming after the half-time drinks.

That's it for this week, which was a real scorcher, with all of the games in the three divisions having drinks breaks, and it's probably about time I went for one too. Div2 throws up a tantalising local derby next week, with Mountsorrel and Rothley, two grounds that are less than a mile from each other, facing each other. We'll be back next week with the latest action, as we move out of the early stages of the season and the tables begin to take shape. See you then.
