On Thursday in the Kennett Insurance Sporting Shield Final Limestone Rangers were beaten 2 – 1 by Scotter United the first half was a tight affair with Limestone playing the better football keeping the ball well but lacked a cutting edge and never really created any scoring opportunities, Scotter were however creating chance and Daniel Goluch took one after 41 minutes to open the scoring and give Scotter a 1 – 0 lead which they held on to until half time, Limestone started the second half like a house on fire and scored the equalizer after 47 minutes through Scott Hutchinson when he ran through on goal and rounded the oncoming Scotter Keeper Matthew Lawson to roll the ball into an empty net, the game ebbed and flowed until Scotter took the lead when Tom Williams scored after 60 minutes to make it 2 – 1, Scotter held on despite pressure from Limestone to score leaving them winners 2 – 1. The win gave Scotter the treble of Division One and Johnsons Transport Hospital Cup.
